Jonathan Silk Dip ITEC CThA
I love city life but at heart I’m a country guy; I’ve always lived by the sea and have a need for the great outdoors. I
trod the well worn path of many others by joining the commuter trail
until I received
a
massage from Martin in 2002 - and this started my interest in Complementary
Therapies.
At the time, I
was working
as a
manager
within
the Customer
Service industry in London and had not realised how the continuous
stress of modern day living had taken its toll on my body, both
mentally and physically. I
started to exercise and made numerous other changes to my lifestyle - the
main one being to study to become a Therapeutic Masseur.
After several years of study I qualified as an aromatherapist along with a host of other therapy qualifications including Holistic Massage and Indian Head Massage. I am a director of Positive Image Fitness and believe massage has numerous benefits and an holistic approach to life can
help regain the balance we all need to be happy, contented and healthy
beings in our everyday lives. I have worked as a trainer for a local authority, developing and delivering courses in customer service and love working with people and seeing them succeed.
Like Martin, I too have ventured into radio and lost my virgin status as a contributor when I recently appeared as the Massage Therapist advisor for BBC Radio London's Jumoke Fashola's Late Show talking about the holistic approach to massage and the benefits massage can have on our psychological and physiological health. Guess you also need to know I am qualified with the International
Therapy Examination Council (ITEC) and a member of the Complementary Therapists' Association.
